Magazine Advert Ideas

Here is my Advert Design 1. I have chosen to use this image due to it being a large and central image of Ruby which allows people who see the advert to know who Ruby is and understand her as an artist. I have used the same theme from my digipak of the handwritten style of writing in order for Ruby to have a clear and recognisbale identity and brand. I have also featured aspects of a real advert such as media quotes and ratings in order for the audience to see her achievements as an artist and be encouraged to buy her album and make their own judgement. I have also included website information in order for audience to be able to have access to Ruby's music and news. I stuck to bold colours of red, white, red, blue and black in order for the colours to stand out and also to represent Ruby as a bold and bright artist, as well as fitting in with her colourful theme in her music video. I used this iamge of Ruby in order to create intrigue as she is not looking at the camera this may cause the audience to be intrigued and be encouraged to learn more about her by buying her album.

In my Advert Design 2 I have chosen the same image I used for my album cover on my digipak, this was due to my research into adverts that showed that alot of artists chose their album cover to advertise themselves e.g Kate Nash. I used red, yellow and white in order to stand out against the busy background and to appear bold to represent the confidence of the artist. These colours also appeared commonly throughout the digipak. Similarly to Design 1 I used features such as ratings, quotes, release date and websites in order to promote the artist and for the audience to be able  access information to Ruby. By choosing this image of Ruby laughing I have expressed her fun, bright and energetic side, this allows the audience to identify her as an artist as see her album as happy and full of fun songs whilst Image 1 does the opposite and creates intrigue.
