Theoretical Evaluation of As Production

As part of a homework task we had to research and choose videos that fit into certain genres. I was given a video that is in black and white and also a video featuring a boy band.

For the black and white video I chose Amy Winehouse's 'Back In Black'. I chose this video as I like the way it fits in with the title of the song and I also like the story it tells of a funeral mourning the loss of someone, and I think the black and white is really effective. The black and white also fits in with the dark image of the song.



For the video featuring a boy band I chose Blink 182 'All the Small Things' as it is a funny,entertaining and quirky video that mimicks the classic cheesey boy band video and uses the typical stereotype image and play on this and make fun of it. I also really like the variety of shots, which vary from close ups to a camera lens shot and also the colour changes to black and white at one point, making it more engaging.
